Product Information

Why Goldfilter?

This metal filter system was developed as an alternative to the paper filter to get the best tasting coffee. Due to its absorbent properties paper removes all oils and fats from the liquid to be filtered. This means that not only the coffee-grounds are retained, but also all the brewing colloids (flavour carriers in the coffee). On the other hand, the solids are separated purely mechanically from the liquid by the micro pores of the permanent metal filter. The solid gold plating of the filter is chemically neutral which eliminates every influence to taste. Noxious substances in paper such as remainders of glues or plant-protective agents are non existent with the metal filter.

This results in pure and great tasting coffee as the genuine and original flavour of coffee is fully preserved. The filter unit is designed to go on top of most cups or mugs due to its conical shaped filter. By cleaning in your usual dishwashing manner your goldfilter stays hygienically clean for years and ready for use at any time.

Reusable, Recyclable, Energy Efficient and Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty

The goldfilter is moulded into homopolymer polypropylene (PP) material. The material is food proof and has the compliance for food contact applications. The polypropylene material used in the unit is itself recyclable. This reusable metal filter system is more robust and more efficient with coffee extraction than a similar capacity french press (or plunger). It is energy efficient as only enough water needs to be boiled to suit the size of the cup used and the filter process is gravity fed. Using medium ground coffee the filter process takes 2-3 minutes. Thus, you have the superior flavour of freshly brewed coffee with all the convenience of instant coffee.

Natural resources are preserved due to its reusability, recyclability, coffee efficiency and energy efficiency – a sustainable necessity in today’s world.
